Black Forest Cake Porridge

The well-known “Black Forest Cake” (or as in original: “Schwarwälder Kirschtorte”) is a recipe created not more than 100 years ago. Some say the name comes from it looks, precisely its chocolate decoration (that you can interpret as dark black chocolate forest) and other say that it was made in “Black Forest” region for the first time. However, this cake is delicious and with some simple ingredients you can make an easy breakfast version yourself at home.

Servings: 1
Time: 15 minutes

You need for
…an amazing chocolate porridge base:

½ banana
50g oats
2 tsp raw cacao powder
150ml almond milk
100ml water

…a delicious white cream:
2 big tbsp coconut yoghurt
1 tsp white tahini
1-2 tsp agave syrup (maple syrup works too, but may turn out more beige than white)
¼ tsp vanilla

…a heavenly chocolate and cherry top:
150g cherries
1 tsp maple syrup (optional)
15-20g dark vegan chopped chocolate (sweetened with coconut sugar, 70%)

How to make:
1. Start by making your porridge base. Simply mash banana in a cooking pot and add oats, raw cacao powder, almond milk and water. Mix it and the heat it up. At first, cook it at a higher temperature, but then lower the heat to let it thickens, so that the porridge is not burned at the bottom.
2. Meanwhile (don´t forget to stir from time to time!) prepare your hot cherries. Simply let them heat up in another pot, optional with some maple syrup.
3. Next, make the cream. Combine coconut yoghurt with tahini, vanilla and agave syrup until smooth.
4. Porridge is done? Then you can fill it into a bowl. Now add the white and cream and afterwards the cherries. Lastly, top it with some chopped chocolate.
5. Dig in and enjoy!
